Remove Existing ATV Grips
Step1
Cut down the length of the grip with a sharp utility knife.
Step2
Dremel through the grip with a fiber glass cut-off wheel.
Step3
Push the nozzle of an air hose beneath the lip of the grip and allow the air pressure to break the adhesive bond. Once that bond is broken, slide the grip off.
Step4
Clean the metal underneath using contact cleaner or acetate. Be sure to remove all adhesive and rubber. Allow to dry thoroughly before proceeding.
Step5
Inspect the throttle tube for damage or extensive wear, replace if necessary.
Install New ATV Grips
Step1
Apply pin-sized dab of grip glue to the inside of the replacement grip.
Step2
Lay a thin line of grip glue around the bottom of the metal, take care to avoid the throttle tube.
Step3
Install the new grip.
Step4
Position the grip appropriately during installation as adjustments are not possible once attached.
Step5
Consider securing with twist wire to insure grip placement in the most extreme conditions.
